Responsibilities

 

  • Analyze customer requirements and RFCs to understand validation requirements.
  • In an Agile framework, document, develop, and integrate validation functionality for various components within a satellite system and related environments.
  • Perform functional testing and traffic testing on our products.
  • Managing complex setups to validate with different use cases.
  • Proactively engage with our engineering teams to exchange on specific product requirements and to Facilitate smooth integration of the components. 
  • Perform root cause analysis on issues detected via validation tests on our Test setups. 
  • Aspire towards a thorough understanding of satellite communication technologies and components.

Qualifications

 

 

Education – BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics, or equivalent experience

 

Experience - 3+ years of industry experience in software validation

 

As a prerequisite to become our QA Engineer you:

  • master Linux and some scripting languages (bash, ruby, python, perl, ...)  
  • have strong problem solving and communications skills.
  • proven experience in test automation and can demonstrate an interest in networking (in a Linux context).
  • have a good understanding of at least one of the following tools/technologies: telecommunication systems and concepts, IP and related protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, etc), Linux, Linux containers (LXC)
  • have good documentation and writing skills.
  • possess the ability to proactively drive technical solutions in a collaborative environment.
  • must be a self-motivated individual with a solid technical background.

 

Additional Skills

  • Be able to work in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience/ knowledge in satellite/ terrestrial communications systems is an advantage.
  • Experience with version control system (such as git) strongly desired.
  • Experience with Jira and Jenkins desired.
  • Scripting using shell scripting or Python desired.
