Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Private/Public Cloud Test Automation Engineer to join our Cloud and Resource Orchestration development team. As part of a Scrum team, you will design, develop, and deliver the infrastructure and orchestration layer for our applications, with a strong emphasis on test automation. You will play a key role in defining, implementing, debugging, testing, and releasing new capabilities and services while supporting other teams with the deployment and use of the orchestration layer.

Test Automation Leadership:

• Define and implement comprehensive automated testing strategies for performance and functional testing across all cloud components.
• Lead the development and integration of automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Continuously improve the test automation framework and processes to enhance efficiency and coverage.
• Take ownership of software quality with a strong focus on automated testing and product security.

Collaboration and Support:

• Engage in Scrum events, cross-team planning, and review activities to ensure cohesive and effective development practices.
• Mentor junior colleagues in best practices for test automation and cloud engineering.
• Support the product owner in prioritizing technical user stories related to test automation and quality assurance.

Continuous Improvement:

• Automate recurring tasks and contribute to establishing robust Continuous Integration, Deployment, and Testing processes.
• Propose and implement improvements in the overall test strategy, challenging the team to excel in all aspects of test automation.
• Prevent, analyze, and resolve incidents and field issues with a proactive approach to testing and quality assurance.

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:

• Create user-oriented documentation focusing on the automated testing framework and processes.
• Transfer necessary knowledge to other engineering teams to ensure a thorough understanding of test automation practices.

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience and Skills:

• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on test automation
• Expert knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Expert knowledge of Cloud Service Provider platforms and GNU/Linux (preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (pyTest, Python, Bash) for automated testing
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and DevOps principles.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, BitBucket, Artifactory) and build pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with network infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Configuration Management.
• Knowledge of Virtualized and Containerized Network Functions.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working in a Scrum team and telecommunications environment is a plus.
• Fluent in English (written and oral); Dutch is an asset.
