A Junior Software Engineer at ST Engineering iDirect works within the engineering department in a SCRUM team using an Agile framework. The candidate will be responsible for participating in the development, testing, and support features for a satellite communications system. He/she will be a highly motivated self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills and work well in a team environment. • Develop, test, document and integrate software functionality for various components within a satellite system and related environments
• Use modern C++ features in a dynamic environment.
• Take a collaborative design and validation approach in working with a multi-functional Scrum team of software development and test engineers.
• Troubleshoot and provide resolutions for technical issues encountered in the deployment of software solutions.
• Work together with engineers in the team to plan and execute tasks as required.
  
  

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline is preferred.

Requirements

• 1 or 3 years in C++ development
• C++, OOD/OOP knowledge
• Linux programming knowledge
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, sockets programming
• Knowledge on unit, integration, and functional testing experience, including CI/CD automation
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Self-motivated with technical leadership potential
• Proactive in driving technical solutions
• Affinity with software design skills with OOD/OOP knowledge
• Hands-on with multi-threaded/process apps on Linux, C++ skills
• Good understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP)
• Strong documentation and writing skills
• Technical leadership and mentoring abilities
• Excellent presentation skills
• Solid UML knowledge
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Affinity with satellite communications systems
• Familiar with GDB, Valgrind, Git, and scripting (shell/Python)
