We are seeking a hands-on and strategic Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Manufacturing Competence Center (an Electronics Manufacturing Services environment). This role is key to ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and customer expectations are met efficiently and consistently. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and ERP systems such as SAP. You will drive cross-functional collaboration, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure operational excellence.

• Lead and oversee production, planning, logistics, and warehouse functions to ensure on-time and on-cost delivery
• Manage capacity planning, resource allocation, and production scheduling in collaboration with planning and sales
• Drive operational performance (cost, delivery, safety, and morale) using KPIs and structured reviews
• Ensure effective use of SAP for order management, materials control, and production reporting
• Identify and implement process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Have a keen eye for innovation opportunities, further automation and digital transformation
• Support to maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO13485, IPC, NASA and ECSS standards, ESD safety)
• Lead and coach teams across various departments, building a culture of accountability and engagement
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support NPI and change management
• Act as the point of escalation for operational issues and coordinate timely resolutions
• Prepare and present operational reports and recommendations to senior management

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in EMS or high-mix, low-volume environments
• Proven experience with SAP or another ERP system is essential
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing cross-functional teams
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and quality systems
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Hands-on mentality and willingness to be present on the production floor
• Flexible, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Fluent in English and in Dutch
